የኩላሊት ህመምተኞች እጥበት በጎ አድራጎት ድርጅት

በተለያዩ ጊዜያት የተደረጉት ጥናቶች እንደሚጠቁሙት ኢትዮጵያ ውስጥ ከአመጋገብና ከኑሮ ዘይቤ መቀየር ጋር አብረው የመጡ ስኳር፣ ደም ግፊትና የተለያዩ አይነት የካንሰር በሽታዎች ተጠቂ ቢኖሩም ለነዚህ በሽታዎች በመጠኑም ቢሆን እርምጃ እየተወሰደ ይገኛል።

ነገር ግን በአሁኑ ሰዓት የኩላሊት ሕመም ምን ያህል ማህበራዊ፣ ኢኮኖሚያዊ እንዲሁም ሌሎች የጤና ችግሮችን እንደሚያስከትል ማህበረሰቡ በቂ እውቀት የለውም።  የግንዛቤ እጥረት ችግር ከመኖሩም በላይ ከነጭራሹ ሁለቱም ኩላሊቶች ከጥቅም ውጪ በመሆናቸው ምክንያት የማሽን እጥበት የሚያስፈልጋቸው ዜጎች ቁጥር ከዕለት ወደ ዕለት እየጨመረ መጥቷል። እጥበቱም በወር በአማካኝ ከ15,000 እስከ 20,000 የኢትዮጵያ ብር የሚጠይቅ በመሆኑ መክፈል የማይችል ታማሚ እቤቱ ተኝቶ የሞቱን ጊዜ መጠባበቅ ምርጫው ሆኗል።

በአንድ ወቅት የተጠና ጥናት እንደሚያሳየው በአገራችን ከ2 ሚልዮን በላይ በኩላሊት ህመም ችግር እየተሰቃዩ የሚገኙ ሰዎች አሉ። ከነዚህም ውስጥ የኩላሊት እጥበት （ዲያሊሲስ） የሚያስፈልጋቸው 40ሺህ ይደርሳሉ። ከነዚህም ሰዎች አቅም ከ300 የሚበልጡ አይደሉም። ሕመሙ ኖሮበት ከላይ የተጠቀሱትን የሕይወት ፈተና ለመጋፈጥ የቻለ ሰው ቤት ንብረቱን እየሸጠ የሚችለውን እያደረገ ቢገኝም ከጊዜ ወደ ጊዜ አቅሙ በመዳከሙ ተስፋው እየደበዘዘ የሚገኝ የህብረተሰብ ክፍል እየሆነ መጥቷል።

የችግሩን አሳሳቢነት በመመልከት ችግሩን በተቻለ መጠን በዘላቂነት ለመፍታት በማስብ 43 በበሽታው የተጠቁ ሰዎች ተሰባስበው የኩላሊት እጥበት በጎ አድራጎት ድርጅቱን ለመመሥረት በቅተዋል። ይህንን ድረጅት በህመሙ እየተሰቃዬ ካሉት መሀከል 43 ሆነው ያቋቋሙት ሲሆን ከፌደራል የበጎ አድራጎት ድርጅቶችና ማህበራት ኤጀንሲ ምዝገባ ቢሮ ድርጅቶችን ማህበራት ኤጀንሲ ምዝገባ ቢሮ ሕጋዊ ዕውቅና የተሠጠው ይህ ድርጅት ይዞት በተነሳው ዓላማ በብቸኝነት የሚጠቀስ ሀገር በቀልና መንግስታዊ የልሆነ ድርጅት ነው።

የማኅበሩ አባላት 

የችግሩ ተቋዳሾች በሆኑ ሰዎች የተመሠረተው የኩላሊት አጥበት በጎ አድራጎት ድርጅት በአሁኑ ወቅት መስራች ከነበሩት 43 ሰዎች መሃል አንድ ቢቀሩም በአሁኑ ወቅት ድርጅቱ ከ500 በላይ የሚሆኑ በሽታው የተጠቁ የማህበር አባላት ሲኖሩት ከነዚህም ውስጥ ከ16-30 ዓመት የዕድሜ ክልል ውስጥ የሚገኙ ቤተሰብ የመሠረቱ ናቸው።

 የማኅበሩ ዓላማ 

- የማኅበሩ ዋና ዓላማ በኩላሊት ህመም ውስጥ የሚገኙ ሰዎች ሆነው የህክምና አገልግሎቱን በክፍያ ምክንያት ማግኘት ላልቻሉ ዜጎች ሁሉ አስፈላጊውን አገዛ በማድረግ ካሉበት የህምም ሰቃይ እፎይ ለማሰኘት ፣ኢኮኖሚያዊና ማኅበራዊ 

ሰብእናቸው አድጎና ሰብአዊ ክብራዠው ተጠብቆ በዘላቂነት ምርታማ የሀገሪቷ ዜጎች እንዲሆኑ ማድረግ እና ህብረተሰቡ በ ሰፊው   ስለ ኩላሊት ህመም እና ራሱን ከህመሙ እንዴት መጠበቅ እንደለበት በቂ መረጃ በመስጠት ራሳቸውን የሚከላከሉበትን የግንዛቤ ትምህርት ማስጨበጥ።

የዓላማው ማስፈፀሚያ ስልቶች 

· የግንዛቤ ማጎልበቻ መንገዶች ማመቻቸት።

· በገቢ ማስገኛ ሥራዎች ውስጥ መሳተፍ።

· የማኅበረሰቡን አመለካከት በመለወጥ ዜጎች በበሸታው እንዳይጠቁ ማድረግ።

· የምክክር አገልግሎት በመስጠት የተሰበረ ሥነ-ልቦናቸውን መጠገን።

·  ከሚመለከታቸው መንግስታዊም ሆኑ መንግስታዊ ካልሆኑ መሰል ተቋማት ጋር ቅንጅት በመፍጠር በጋራ መንቀሳቀስ።

የማኅበሩ ተግባራዊ ዕቅዶች 

· ከተለያዩ አካላት ጋር በመስራት በአገር ውስጥና በውጪ በመንቀሳቀስ ማህበሩ የራሱን ወጪ የሚሸፍንበትን የገቢ  ምንጮች መፍጠርና ሁኔታዎችን በማመቻቸት ሙሉ በሙሉ የማሸን አጥበቱን /ዲያሊስስ/ ወጪያቸውን በመሸፈን።

· የአቻ ለአቻ ትምህርት ዘዴን በመጠቀም ለ1000,000 ለሚደርሱ ሰዎች ስለ ኩላሊት ህመም እና ራሱን ከህመሙ እንዴት መጠበቅ እንዳለበት በቂ መረጃ በመስጠት ራሳቸውን የሚከላከሉበትን የግንዜቤ ትምህርት ማስጨበጥ።

· የጤና አቅርቦቶችን በተሟላ ሁኔታ ማመቻቸት።

· የኩላሊት ዝውውር ወይም ንቅለ ተከላ የሚከናወንበትን የህክምና ተቋም በመገንባት ሥራውን በፍጥነት ማስጀመር

· በአዲስ አበባ እና በሌሎች የክልል ከተሞች የኩላሊት ህመምተኞች የህክምና አገለግሎት የሚያገኙበትን ሁኔታዎች ማመቻቸት።

የማኅበሩ ውጤታማ ተግባራት 

· ማኅበሩ  በአሁኑ ጊዜ በዘውዲቱ መታሰቢያ ሆስፖታል ቅጥር ግቢ ውስጥ የተሰጠውን ቢሮ በማደሰና የራሱ ቢሮን በማስገንባት ስራውን ጀምሯል።

· እስከ ስድስት የዲያሊሲስ ማሽን ከጳውሎስ ሆስፒታል እንዲገኝ በማድረግ ከዘውዲቱ መታሰቢያ ሆስፒታል ጋር ለመስራት ዝግጅቱን ጨርሷል።

· ከደም ባንክ ጽ/ቤት አስፈላጊ  በሚሆንበት ጊዜ የደም ባንክ ዲያሊሲስ ለሚያደርጉ የማህበሩ አባላት ደም እንዲያገኙ ፈቃድ እግኝቷል።

·  ከግል የጤና ተቋማት በመወያየት በቅርቡ የዲያሊሲስ ሥራ አስከሚያስጀምር ድረስ የዋጋ ቅናሽ ለማህበሩ አባላቶች እንዲያደርጉ ስምምነት ላይ ደርሷል።

· ኤቪ ፊስቱላ እና ካቴተር ለማህበሩ አባላት በሚሰራላቸው ወቅት የህክምና ወጪውን ብቻ በማሽፈን እስከ 10000 ብር ድረስ ይከፍሉ የነበረውን ወጪ በ1/5 መቀነስ ችሏል። 

· ከጃፖን ኤምባሲ ከ10-20 የሚደርስ የዲያሊሲስ ማሽን ሊሰጠው ቃል ተገብቶለታል።

· 20  አልጋዎችን፤ 4 አስትሬቸር እና የተለያዩ የህክምና መገልገያ መሣሪያዎችን በእርዳታ ለማግኘት ችሏል።

· ማኅበሩ ባለው ሙሉ አቅም ለመንቀሳቀስ የሚቻለውን ሁሉ እያደረገ ቢገኝም ከችግሩ ስፋትና ጥልቀት እንፃር ብዙ ተሠርቷል ማለት አይቻልም። የኩላሊት አጥበት የሚያስፈልጋቸው በርካታ የማህበሩ አባላት የድረጅቱን እና የሁሉንም የኅብረተሰብ ክፍል ድጋፍና ዕርዳታ ይጠብቃሉ። ስለዚህም በቀጣይነት ውጤታማ ተግባራትን ለመፈፀም አቅዷል፡፡ ይህን ራዕዩን ለማሳካት ግን ያለበት የገንዘብ እጥረት ትልቅ ማነቆ ሆኖበታል። ችግሩ የሁሉም እንደመሆኑ አስፈላጊው ድጋፍና እገዛ ከተገኘ የማኅበሩ የነገ ህልም እውን መሆኑ እያጠራጥርም።

According to studies done in Ethiopia, there are more than 2 million people of a chronic renal failure patients. S40,000 patients are in need of dialysis treatment immediately, otherwise they are destined to die if treatment/ dialysis/ is not provided. However, only fewer 300 patients (less than 0.75%) are capable of paying for their own treatment of dialysis.

One patient spends 15,000 Ethiopian birr to 20,000 Ethiopian birr per month.

Patients who can’t afford to pay for the dialysis are forced to wait for the day of his / her death, being bedridden patient in his home. Most patients sell their house and property to pay for the treatment,. They become hopeless in the process and have no any other alternative other than to spend all they have and drain the whole livelihood of the entire family.

Establishment of Kidney Failure

Dialysis Charity Organization

Considering the seriousness of the problem, 43 patients gathered together and established kidney failure dialysis charity organization 5 years ago.

Members of the organization

Out of the 43 patients who are victims of the disease and who founded the kidney failure dialysis charity, only one of them is alive. However, the organization currently has more than 500 victim members. The members are mostly between the ages of 16-30 years old. Most of the patients are the only worker and provider of their family, as a result, one patient disrupt the life of 5 to 10 members of the family. 

Objective of the organization

The main objective of the association is to give relief for the people who are suffering from the disease treatment due to financial problem by providing dialysis with a very minimal cost. 

To raise awareness among the society regarding the renal failure and how they can protect themselves with the provision of the necessary information and education. 

Implementation strategies

· raising awareness 

· Participating in and organizing fund raising activities

· To educate the society on how they protect themselves through change of attitude and life style.

· Maintain their affected physiology with counseling

· Working in cooperation with the concerned governmental and non-governmental organization

Action plans of the organization 

• To look for a source of income by working with various organizations, both located locally and abroad, which can cover costs and decrease the cost of dialysis for patients.  
• To conduct different programs which raises awareness among the society regarding renal failure and provide sufficient information to society on how to protect themselves from the disease.
• To facilitate the necessary condition for the full health service provision.
• To construct renal transplant and starting the work as soon as possible.
• To enable patients to obtain the necessary health service in Addis Ababa and other regional cities.

Successful activities of the organization 

•  After obtaining an old  building from Zewditu memorial hospital, the charity organization has performed an entire renovation work through cooperation of few benevolent professionals, companies and individuals

• After tremendous efforts a building has been prepared and ready to accommodate a dialysis treatment of high standard.

• Final preparation work is getting completed to commence the first affordable public dialysis treatment in Ethiopia in collaboration with Ministry of health, A.A Health Bureau and Zewditu Memorial Hospital.

• Our organization has obtained up to 6 dialysis machine from St. Paul Hospital and it has completed its preparation to work with Zewditu Memorial Hospital

• It has obtained permission for its members to get blood during dialysis from blood bank office

• It has reached agreement with various private health facilities for its members to get payment reduction for kidney dialysis and its being implemented

• It enables its members who are expected to pay up to birr 10,000 when they are undergone AV fistula and catheter to obtain the service in private health facilities only with the payment of 25%

• In cooperation with America, Seattle Alliance Outreach medical group, do AV fistula and insertion catheter two times per year for free & enable to provide training to different health professionals.

• We has reached an agreement in cooperation with Zewditu Memorial Hospital to reduce the average cost of dialysis for one time from birr 1500 to birr 500 and out of which the patient pays only birr 300 and the charity organization shall cover birr 200.
